Many of the big oil companies and drilling companies whom drill for oil and gas offshore in the Gulf of Mexico are showing their ignorance
Case in point , a statement from Kirt Hoffman , Chief Operating Officer for Sea Hawk of Houston states
There certianly seems to be some kind of agend afoot to punish offshore drillers
Mr Hoffman made this comment in response to the government requiring the oil companies to fufill their legal requirement to provide plans for offshore oil spill response planning in worse case situations when they submit their drilling plan for offshore wells
Well Mr Hoffman I hate to inform you of your business but it is a Federal Requirement that all offshore drilling plans come with a oil spill plan
The M.M.S. with their cozy sleeping arrangements with the oil companies for the last few years have a forgone this requirement which has now come to haunt us
The government is only enforcing the requirements and laws which keep the personnel , equipment and environment safe
This makes me wonder if we should watch out for a massive oil spill where Sea Hawk is drilling an offshore well
One would think the president of a drilling company would understand what the federal requirements are for drilling a offshore well
Or maybe Mr. Hoffman is simply a accountant come to power with little or no industry knowledge with the exception of how to cut cost and increase profits
